MARYLAND MIDSHORE INTERGROUP

We are actively seeking AA members to participate as representatives of their home groups (IGRs) and attend the monthly MSIG meetings. Please join us in-person on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. and see for yourself. (details listed above).

What Intergroup does:

Intergroup serves as "boots on the ground" for AA in the local area by:

• Maintaining a local office in Easton where volunteers answer phones, greet visitors seeking help. 

• Regularly updating and publishing printed and online meetings lists.

• Stocking and selling AA literature.

• Serving as a central location to exchange information  and carry the message among home groups.  

• Carrying the AA message in the community in libraries, hospitals and other public institutions, and to professionals in the field.

• Organizing the committees to do the work: Corrections, Treatment, Activities and Public Information.

• Being a link between AA General Service and local home groups.

How does it work?

• Representatives from local groups (IGR's) in the 5-county area meet monthly to connect and communicate ideas and ways to carry the AA message to those who are recovering and those who are still suffering from alcoholism.

• IGR's bring new information back to their groups and get feedback. They encourage service participation for activities organized by the committees including bringing AA meetings into treatment centers and correctional facilities or distributing information at health fairs.

• Intergroup service is another way for AA members to to "give back" for what they have been given in AA. For many members, service work has saved their lives.
